ranbir kapoor and sanjay dutt

Today, in an interaction with the press, Ranbir Kapoor opened up on Sanjay Dutt as he will be essaying his role in his biopic. He was asked if it was unfair the way he was treated just because he is a celebrity, to which Ranbir confessed that it wasn’t unfair because Sanjay Dutt made mistakes and he paid for them.

Said Ranbir, “No, I don’t think so. I think he paid the price for his mistakes and he owned up to it. What the judiciary system is and how much he was meant to repent and not, is all very subjective and I don’t have the real knowledge of that. But I think if you do something wrong, you have to pay for it and if not by the Government, your karma will pay for it. I just think that he has a very large heart, he is like a man-child. But, he has made mistakes and paid for them.” (Also Read: Ranbir Kapoor on Rishi Kapoor’s tweets: There are constant fights and conflicts at home because of it)

Talking about his life story and the biopic, he further said, “I’m just an actor playing his part, it feels like a sci-fi film because how can one human being go through so much in his life. His tryst with drugs, then coming out of it to deal with his mother’s death two days before the release of his first film, the terrorism charges and taking guns, his dealings with the underworld, going to jail, coming out of it. So I think it’s a very honest portrayal of a very controversial and loved man. I don’t think it’s a propaganda film. I think it’s a film where you can learn from his mistakes. And it’s a life which I can’t understand how can one human being have such a life in one lifetime. And of course there is Rajkumar Hirani making the film, so I feel really blessed to play this part. My look got leaked recently and people have really liked it and appreciated it.”

Well, what does Mr Dutt have to say to this?
