There has been a hike in cases of credit card frauds, and Pallavi Joshi who is known for her appearance in various movies and TV shows, has been the latest victim of such a fraud. Reportedly, she recently lodged an FIR at the Versova police station. A report by Hindustan Times says that the police have informed that the actress lives in Seven Bungalows in Andheri (West), she was at her residence and the card was in her possession on July 5 when the offense took place.

Versova police, that received the complaint, has sought details from the bank for fraudulent transactions that was carried out using Joshi’s credit card. In a report by Hindustan Times she spoke to them saying, “I received five to six SMS alerts one after another. The amount deducted was in euros. I informed my bank and got my credit card blocked immediately.

It is said that the transactions that were being done from her stolen card details were done by someone in Euros. The approximate amount spent was 12000 Rupees. A report also said that the transactions were apparently done to make payments of taxi fare in Europe.

We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act against unknown suspects,” said Ravindra Badgujar, senior inspector of Versova police station, while speaking to HT.

Versova police senior inspector Ravindra Badgujar confirmed TOI that they have registered cases under sections of the IPC and the IT Act. “Probe is on to get details of the money trails which have been completed in Euros,” said Badgujar.
