Parveen Babi was born in a Gujarati Muslim family on April 4, 1949 in the Junagadh district as Parveen Wali Mohammad Khan Babi. She finished her school education in Aurangabad and studied at St. Xavier’s College in Ahmedabad for her graduation. Parveen started her career with “Charitra” in 1973 while she was still in college. She shared a great on-screen chemistry with Amitabh Bachchan, and delivered some greatest hits of all times like “Majboor”, “Amar Akbar Anthony”, “Deewar”, “Kala Patthar”, and “Kalia”. She quit the film industry at the peak of her career and went to New York as she was suffering from schizophrenia, a kind of delusional disorder. Parveen Babi died a lonely and isolated death on January 22, 2005.
