According to Koimoi box office reports, Dhurandhar 2 has recorded the highest Day 1 pre-sales ever for an Indian film at national cinema chains, including PVR INOX and Cinepolis. The film has sold a staggering 685K tickets (including paid previews) for its opening day through advance booking alone, with one more day still to go. Trade trends suggest that the number could comfortably cross 750K tickets in the final tally.

The sequel, much like its predecessor, is witnessing massive traction in multiplexes across metro cities as well as semi-urban centres, driving these exceptional numbers. Within just 24 hours of advance bookings opening, the film had already made headlines by clocking the second-best pre-sales—only to now go one step further and claim the top spot among Indian films.

With this, Dhurandhar 2 has officially surpassed the long-standing record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi), which had sold 650K tickets, a benchmark that remained unbeaten for eight years.

To put things into perspective, while Dhurandhar 2 now leads among Indian films, Hollywood’s Avengers: Endgame continues to hold the all-time record with an extraordinary 975K tickets sold in advance for Day 1.

These record-shattering numbers come on the back of the film’s already massive global momentum, with Rs 200 crore in worldwide pre-sales and Rs 100 crore expected from Day 1 alone. With such extraordinary demand and buzz, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, also starring Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, is all set for a thunderous box office opening when it releases on March 19.
