pathaan, pathaan box office, shah rukh khan

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham arrived in style in theatres on January 25 with Pathaan. And since its day 1, Pathaan has taken over the box office like a storm. Every day, the film has broken and created new records. And even after close to a month of its release, Pathaan is still shattering box office records.

Pathaan crosses Rs 500 crore NBOC

On Day 22, Pathaan broke the barrier of Rs 500 crore nett at the box office. With this, it has become the first Hindi film to achieve this milestone. The only film ahead of it in domestic collection is SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Taking to their social media handles, Yash Raj Films announced the big news. With its third week’s Wednesday figures, the Siddharth Anand directorial has now collected a total of Rs 502.45 crores nett at box office. Pathaan’s global box office collection has also now increased to Rs 970 crore nett. It is now inching closer to the Rs 1000 crore nett mark globally.

Pathaan tickets to be sold at Rs 110 across India on Feb 17

To celebrate this milestone of crossing Rs 500 crores, the makers have decided to make this Friday, February 17, Pathaan Day. The ticket price across India for the film on this day has been set to Rs 110. For the last 3 weeks, Pathaan had been enjoying almost no competition in theatres with no big releases. However, there are two big projects that will be releasing this Friday.

Shehzada and Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania releases this Friday

The first one is Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon-starrer Shehzada. The romcom is a remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. With Kartik’s last theatre release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 having done wonders at the BO, expectations are high from this one too. The other release is the Hollywood biggie, Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The film has a separate audience section but being a part of Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is also expected to perform well.

It remains to be seen how long will it take for Pathaan now to breach the Rs 1000 crore nett mark globally. Hopefully, by the end of this weekend, the milestone will be achieved.
