During its initial release in 2016, the film earned ₹9 crore at the box office. Now, with the additional earnings from its re-release, it has reached a staggering total collection of ₹39.8 crore. Made on a budget of ₹18 crore, the tragic love story has generated an impressive profit margin of 121.11%.
On its tenth day, despite facing competition from new releases, the film still managed to collect ₹1.2 crore, witnessing only a slight dip from the previous day’s earnings of ₹1.25 crore. The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam concluded its second weekend with a total collection of ₹3.95 crore.
More about the film
Interestingly, Sanam Teri Kasam shares a special connection with Salman Khan and his cult classic Tere Naam. The superstar had initially predicted that the film would become a major success. In fact, he even promoted the film back in 2016 and revealed that one of its songs, Haal-E-Dil Mera, Poocho Naa Sanam, was originally intended to be featured in Tere Naam but was ultimately not included.
What’s even more surprising is that Sanam Teri Kasam has now surpassed Tere Naam in terms of profitability. The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer currently stands 365% ahead of Salman Khan’s tragic love story.
