Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, has earned around Rs 40.95 crore at the domestic box office in six days, according to early estimates. The Tamil gangster drama marked the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after nearly four decades. Despite a strong start with Rs 15.5 crore on Day 1, the film has seen a steady decline in collections.

The film’s daily earnings had dropped to Rs 1.75 crore. However, the collections dropped by 54% on Day 2, with the film making Rs 7.15 crore. The weekend brought a slight rise with Rs 7.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.5 crore on Sunday. With Rs 40.95 crore collected so far, Thug Life now faces a tough challenge to sustain in theatres beyond its first week, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.
