war 2 coolie box office day 7

On August 14, the Indian box office witnessed an intense showdown between Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR’s War 2. Despite stiff competition—initially before the release and now amid a divided audience—both films have performed commendably. While each film has drawn in crowds, only one has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in its domestic net collection, with the other remaining just shy of this milestone.

Scroll down to see the latest net earnings of both films at the Indian box office.

Coolie VS War 2 Box Office

According to recent Sacnilk reports, early estimates indicate that Coolie collected approximately Rs 6.50 crore on Day 7 across all languages, while War 2 earned around Rs 5.50 crore. This suggests that Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s film is yet to enter the Rs 200 Cr box office. Adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall in various parts of the country, might have contributed to the lower numbers.

Coolie, War 2 Reviews

Both films opened to mixed reviews. While some praised Coolie, others pointed out its shortcomings. Similarly, several moviegoers based the latest YRF Spy Universe film on its predictability, while others showered it with love for its action. Bollywood Bubble gave both the Rajinikanth multi-starrer and the Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer War 2 a 2-star rating.

While highlighting some positives, the reviewer wrote in their review“War 2 had all the right ingredients on paper, but wasted two megastars, exotic locations, and the backing of YRF’s spy franchise. The weak writing, overblown action, and style-over-substance execution turn this potential blockbuster into a missed opportunity. It’s a shadow of the original War, with the hype far outpacing the final product. Watch it only if you’re a die-hard fan of Hrithik or NTR. Everyone else can wait for streaming.”

Talking about what works in Coolie, the reviewer wrote, “The attempt is commendable, despite the final result not living up to expectations.” They added in the review“Coolie is a fun watch if you are heading to theatres to only watch Rajinikanth and experience his aura and swag. If you go in looking for content – or anything sensible, you will be deeply disappointed. Anirudh Ravichander’s soundtrack album is the only saving grace but not enough to redeem the film.”
