Darsheel On Not Being A Part Of Sitaare Zameen Par

When asked if he was disappointed for not being a part of the sequel, the actor tells, “This depends on person to person. It’s like if there is focus on me for a particular thing, I run away from it. Because the truth is it was a teamwork on that set. Every single person has made that film exist. Aamir Khan’s soul exists in every essence of the film. Not only this, even Amol Gupte’s writing was magical enough. But everything comes up to what Darsheel did but I did what I was told. So for me it was not just about me. This is about all of these people, story and feeling that emotion.”

He added, “I had made my peace with it long back. When it was announced for a moment I was excited and expected that something would be there. And then when I saw they were moving in some other direction. So I was like it’s fine as it is a part of the journey you have to accept and move on.”

Talking about the limelight he got after Taare Zameen Par and how Aamir Khan taught him to have learning attitude, Darsheel states, “I got lucky as I had no knowledge about it. So I had no clue of what was happening around me. I still don’t understand the concept of limelight. I feel that you do work and it gets highlighted. Also, I was around 8-years-old when everything was happening and I understood the gravity of situation after growing up. But I focused on honing my craft and for that I joined theatre as it’s important to have a learning attitude. Be it Aamir Khan or my family and friends around, they always taught me to be grounded and that is the thing I stick to.”
