Veteran actor Kuldeep Sareen believes the horror genre is making a strong comeback in India with his upcoming film Chhorii, starring Nushrratt Bharuccha. Sareen feels the Indian audience is now more receptive to atmospheric horror rooted in real social issues, a shift from earlier formulaic scares.

In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble about his upcoming horror film Chhorii 2, Kuldeep said, “Horror is definitely making a comeback in India. And Chhorii 2 doesn’t just aim to scare—it has a message, a social undercurrent. I’m excited for people to see what we’ve created.”
Sareen is optimistic about this evolution, noting that strong performances and better storytelling are giving horror a new identity. According to him, Chhorii 2 represents the genre’s much-needed revival in Indian cinema.
