Karan Tacker Reveals Experiencing Sleepless Nights While Shooting Bhay

When asked if he experienced any spooky dreams, sleepless nights or overthinking while shooting Bhay, Karan Tacker responded, “I don’t want to sound overly indulgent as an actor, but especially when it came to playing this part, I really found it challenging to switch off from the heaviness of what I do on set and then come back home. I’ve said this multiple times, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. There have been many times I’ve messaged my mom on my way back from work, saying, ‘Mom, can you just stay up for me? Have a cup of tea with me. Or maybe lie down next to me until I go to sleep.’ Because if this had been just a fictitious horror show, where you’re simply building a character, and it’s all make-believe, it would be different.”

He continued, “But since you’re dealing with a real person’s story—someone who passed away in a very unfortunate incident—it stays with you. Gaurav, in his last few months, kept telling his loved ones how uncomfortable he felt and that something was wrong. I took that as motivation for my character, keeping it within me, and that anxiety just kept building. It really weighs on you at times. I’ve never had a problem disconnecting from my characters before, but this one left me feeling very uncomfortable. At the end of it, I’m honestly just happy with how it turned out. I hope we can honour Gaurav Tiwari and his entire team, and carry their legacy forward. I’d like to think we can celebrate him in a small way, and I’m really grateful for this experience.”
