Aditya Rawal Admits He Feels No Pressure Of Paresh Rawal’s Legacy

Aditya Rawal is known for his performances in Bamfaad (2020) and Faraaz (2022). He is currently receiving widespread appreciation and immense love for his role in Subedaar, directed by Suresh Triveni. With a string of strong performances helping him carve a space in the industry, Aditya, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, spoke about whether he feels any pressure to carry forward the legacy of his father, Paresh Rawal. Scroll down to read what he shared.

Aditya Rawal Opens Up About The Pressure Of Carrying Paresh Rawal’s Legacy

When asked if he feels under pressure being the son of Paresh Rawal, Aditya Rawal said, “No, I don’t really. Honestly, I don’t have that pressure at all. The amount of love and appreciation I get for my work, I feel that motivates me a lot. Then I look at my parents, and they have been working for 40 years in the industry toh fir matlab abhi compare karke kya fayda? Agar 40 saal kaam kar payenge, fir comparisons ki baat honi chaiye na. Nahi toh abhi toh there is no context.”

Further, when asked if he feels his identity is tied to his mother’s or father’s name, Aditya said, “Pata nahi. Hota hoga toh main abhi mehsoos nahi karta. Shuruat mein shayad woh hota hoga. But then ek baar aisa samajh aayaki nahi aap basic level pe more or less aapka kaam jaante ho toh uske baad I don’t think maine uske baare mein zyada socha hai. Main bachpan mein football or cricket bhi khelta tha. Film people are not star-struck.”

The actor continued,” For example, half of the team would have already done an interview with my father at some point, but you know, you see people day in day out who are actors, who are very famous, and all of that. But agar aap cricket aur football ki duniya mein jayenge, there it makes a big difference to them. Because they are not exposed to the world of film. So for them, it was like a bigger thing. So at that time itself, I kind of learned how to deal with it and try to hopefully carve out my whole identity. Toh fir yaha aake toh koi yeh badi baat hai nahi.”

Aditya Rawal On Paresh Rawal’s Advice

When asked whether his father, Paresh Rawal, had given him any advice, Aditya said, “Haan haan. In the sense, not with regards to life decisions or choices when it comes to picking stuff, but definitely when it comes to analysing performances. Infact kal hi subedaar ko leke hum baat bhi kar rahe the. You know what one and co differently, how he might have taken some decisions differently, how certain things that worked for him, certain things that he felt ki ‘oh shayad yeh alag kiya hota toh iska effect alag hota’. Toh that it toh one of the greatest benefits of being the son of somebody who is in the industry that I will always make use of.”
