Amruta Khanvilkar On Marathi Cinema
Talking about the difference between industries and what makes Marathi cinema particularly demanding, Amruta explained how the language and performance style require far more precision and control. She said, “Jab aap marathi filmo mein kaam karte ho, bohot hi thehraav ke saath kaam karna padta hai. Joh marathi language hai bohot heavy hoti hai, joh bade bade sentences hote hai, because literature is very very and lehja is very important, toh bohot chaba chaba ke aapko woh lines bolni padti hai.”
The Chandramukhi actress further shared, “Aapko shabdo ke madhyam se aapko emote karna padta hai, the stress and the pause between two words is very important, when you’re doing a Marathi cinema or theatre, toh ye saare alag alag challenges hote hai, lekin mujhe aisa lagta hai ki jab ek actor in saari cheezo se challenge hota hai, that is when he grows, and I think that is very important.”
For Amruta, these challenges don’t feel like obstacles but opportunities to evolve as a performer. By embracing the depth of language, culture and craft, she continues to sharpen her skills and prove why she remains one of the most dependable and dynamic actors across industries.
