EXCLUSIVE: Ankit Siwach ADMITS Bollywood Looks Down At TV Actors, Reveals, “Once You Start Transitioning To Films, They Become Insecure”

Ankit Siwach recently made his web series debut with Kull on JioHostar. He will next be seen in a couple of movies which is yet to be announced. However, the transition from TV to Films was not easy as small screen actors are often treated differently. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Ankit Siwach shares how Film actors are insecure of TV actors and they are looked down.

Ankit Siwach on TV actors being looked down

When asked if TV actors are looked down, Ankit shares, “I want the perception to shift as it’s very hurtful and disheartening. I’ve personally felt it. Suppose there’s a group of actors, filmmakers, or others sitting together at a party. They’re all happy, comfortable, knowing that someone like me is working in television because that gives them a sense of superiority if they’re doing films.”

He added, “But once you start transitioning to web and films, you can see their behaviour change drastically. They become insecure. That clearly shows they were only comfortable with me when I was doing TV, which they saw as inferior to what they were doing. Now that I’m taking a leap towards web and films, there’s a complete shift in how they treat me. It’s not that they’re saying anything directly, or using specific words, but you can feel it. Everyone can sense it. When they see that a TV actor is also now among them they suddenly start seeing you as a threat.”

Appreciating the hardwork that goes behind in TV, Ankit concludes, “And I’ve seen it happen, so I won’t mince my words. I won’t make it sound easy as it’s not. It’s difficult because we work incredibly hard to deliver episodes, day in and day out. Television deserves just as much respect as films and web content, because the effort, the passion, and the talent are all the same.”

Talking about Ankit’s work front, he has a prominent role in 120 Bahadur with Farhan Akhtar which is all set to release this year.
