Chandan Roy Sanyal On Kartik Aaryan
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Chandan Roy Sanyal talks about his film with Kartik Aaryan. “Kartik ko mai bohot saalo se janta hu, I wish him all the best and I’m so happy he’s come from somewhere and he’s won himself so much love and he’s famous. He’s everywhere. So great to see someone like me. Coming from another city with no connection and has done so well for himself. In fact Kanchi maine Kartik ke saath ki thi aur uske aas-pass humne ek aur film ki thi. Film nahi ki thi, kisi ko pata nahi hai yeh baat, humne ek chota sa test shoot kiya tha.” (I’ve known Kartik for years and wish him the best. It’s great to see someone like me, from another city with no connections, succeed. We did Kanchi together and even test-shot for another film that never happened, though no one knows about it.)
He continued, “Woh ek film banne wali thi woh kabhi bani nahi, uske dauraan bhi kaafi interaction hua tha. So Kartik and I go to the same gym also. Jaise aap bolte hai ki Kartik, A-lister hai… toh kyuki mai jiss duniya se aata hu waha grading toh hai nahi. As an insaan, as an artist, jitna batoor sake, jitna daarshak aapko de rahe hai aap lenge. Mai jab peheli baar iss sheher me aaya tha toh choote-choote kaam karte hue mai jaha pohocha hu. Toh main kayi baar sochta hu Kartik is here, I’m there, and I also look at it in a different way.” (“A film was planned but never happened, and during that time, Kartik and I interacted a lot. We also go to the same gym. In my world, there’s no grading—artists take whatever appreciation they receive. I started with small jobs to get here. And sometimes I reflect—Kartik is here, I am there—but from my own perspective.”.)
Chandan Wanting To Move To Bombay
“When I actually started acting, I had nothing, only thing I wanted was to move to Bombay and just to act, because when I was in college. I worked with Manoj Sir toh jab maine Satya dekhi thi unko as Bhiku Mahtre dekha toh mujhe laga ki mai college me hu aur uss time me DDLJ aati thi, Hum Aapke Hai Koun aur baaki sab, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Khalnayak dekh kar hi main bada hua hu. Toh jab maine Satya dekhi toh mera sab badal hi gaya. Mujhe laga ki Manoj Bajpayee ek sadharan insaan ek artist, toh jab maine unhe dekha toh mujhe laga ki shayad mai bhi karne ki ek himakaat hui.” (When I started acting, I had nothing—just a dream to move to Bombay and act. Watching Satya and Manoj Bajpayee as Bhiku Mhatre changed everything for me. I grew up on films like DDLJ and Hum Aapke Hain Koun. But Satya made me realize that a regular person could be an artist. That gave me the courage to pursue acting.)
He added, “Toh jab mai sochta hu Kartik ka success hai ya mera…. abhi mera tenure khatam toh hua nahi toh ab mai kaha jaa raha hu kisi ko pata nahi, sirf upar waale ko pata hai. Dekhne jaaye toh mujhe bade bade American actors, European actors ke saath kaam karna hai toh joh mai chahata hu mujhe milega, joh Kartik ne chaha hai usse mila hai.” (So when I think about Kartik’s success or mine… my journey isn’t over yet, and where I’m headed, only the Almighty knows. Ideally, I want to work with big American and European actors, and I believe I’ll get what I desire, just like Kartik has achieved what he wished for.)
About Kaanchi
