As Kohrra 2 continues to receive praise, debutant actor Davinder Gill has been earning appreciation for his portrayal of Constable Aujla. A significant part of his journey on the show has been sharing the screen with acclaimed actor Barun Sobti. In an Exclusive Interview with Bollywood Bubble talked about the bond and camaraderie the duo shared both on-screen and off-screen.

Speaking about their camaraderie, Davinder shares that most of his scenes in Kohrra 2 are with Barun. “I first met Barun sir, during the script reading. After the reading session of a few hours, he casually called out to me, saying, ‘Oye Aujle!’ and from there, it just picked up. That was the beginning of Garundi and Aujla’s equation in the show.”

In the series, Barun plays ASI, while Davinder’s Aujla is a constable, junior in rank but friendly and comfortable in the equation. “There’s a natural power dynamic because he’s the inspector and I’m the constable. But there’s also warmth and ease between them. And that dynamic worked beautifully off-screen too,” Davinder says.

Despite Barun being a senior and established actor, the environment on set was relaxed and collaborative. “We chilled a lot between takes and spoke extensively about Punjab since I’m from there, and we were shooting on home ground. I really look up to him. I learned so much just by observing him- from understanding camera angles to how to face the lens and hold a moment,” Davinder added.

One of the most talked-about sequences from the show – a chase scene that has been going viral became a memorable turning point in their equation. “Running is my territory; I’m a sportsman. That’s where the dynamic shifted for a bit,” Davinder smiles. “Usually, before intense scenes, he would tell me, ‘Relax reh.’ But before the running sequence, I was the one checking on him ‘Sir, aap theek ho na?. The fun we had behind the scenes is very similar to how Aujla interacts with him in the series. That comfort and teasing energy came naturally.”

Before stepping into the digital space, Davinder made his feature film debut as Jarnail Singh in Maidaan with Ajay Devgn.
