Manasi Parekh Opens Up About Her Blockbuster 2025
Speaking exclusively with us, we asked Manasi about what has been an extraordinary year with three releases in just 7 months, each completely different from the other: Shubhchintak, Misri, and Maharani. Reflecting on this intense and creatively fulfilling phase, she said, “This is the kind of year that actors usually wait for, and I am so glad that I had it. I think I am the only actress in Gujarati cinema to have such back-to-back releases, and in such varied genres, so I am extremely grateful to God and to timing, because sometimes it’s all about timing. Most things are not in our hands while making films. Right from Shubhchintak to Maharani and Misri, the audience’s reaction, feedback, and the journey with each film has been very special.”
With standout performances across her recent films, we asked Manasi what kind of characters or stories she hopes to explore next. She shared, “I am looking forward to doing comedy. In fact, there is something I’m doing right now, but I can’t talk about it yet as it’s too soon. For me, every character, story, and journey I choose has to be something I haven’t done before, that’s been my constant mantra. Having said that, I want to play a cop for sure. I want to explore crime thrillers and more action because I explored a bit of that in Shubhchintak.”
As she continues exploring new genres, characters, and challenges, one thing is clear that Manasi is just getting started, and Gujarati cinema is all the richer for it.
