Ragini Khanna is a film and TV actress, model, comedian, singer and TV host. She has hosted India’s Best Dramebaaz (2013) and Gangs of Haseepur (2014). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ragini Khanna gets frustrated when she is referred to as Govinda’s niece, as she feels it’s unfair to him. She also admits that she wants to be remembered for her work in the industry.
Ragini Khanna Gets Frustated On Being Called Govinda’s Niece
When asked if there is any learning from she or her cousins learn from their uncle Govinda, Ragini Khanna answered, “So it’s very funny because all my cousins get the title of ‘Govinda’s niece,’ ‘Govinda’s nephew.’ I feel it’s unfair to him. And I feel it’s not right because there are many cousins. And everybody has done a lot of substantial work now to be referred to like that. He never told us anything; he’s very sweet that way.”
She added, “But I think it’s unfair to him and us as well. Because, after doing so much work, I think you should remember a person for their talent. Just don’t interview that person, don’t talk to the person, if the person has no recognition. Then why even listen to that person? If the person has no identity other than their relation, then that person becomes redundant.”
The actress continued, “It’s frustrating; it discredits the person for their talent and their hard work. Now, after doing so much work, if you only want to remember my relation with my uncle, then I wonder, where is my work in the picture? After working for 16–17 years in the industry, you still want to acknowledge me only as someone’s relative? I mean, my relationship will remain till my last breath. It’s from birth, it will remain with me my entire life. But why is that your only point of connection? That’s what I want to understand. The audience confuses me.”
