Harsh Mayar – who is celebrated as one of the most promising talents of his generation, has consistently impressed audiences with memorable performances. From sharing the screen with Rani Mukerji in Hichki, to delivering gripping moments in Zee5’s Abhay, to winning hearts as Aman Mishra in the acclaimed series Gullak, Harsh has done it all.
A National Film Award honouree, Harsh has carved a place for himself through pure talent and sincerity. He now prepares for his next release, One Two Cha Cha Chaa, adding another exciting chapter to his journey. Ahead of the film’s release, Mayar opened up winning the National Film Award as a kid and whether that pressure ever impacted his career. Read on to know all he said.
Harsh Mayar: I Never Told People About Winning A National Film Award
Harsh Mayar believes that winning the National Award early in life didn’t change his approach to his craft. Reflecting on that milestone, the ‘I Am Kalam’ actor said, “When I got the National Award, I didn’t know much about it and neither did I know what it meant. So, I never put the pressure of that thing in my life. The confidence I have about my work is because of my caliber and inside I know what I can do not that the National Award or any other award determines that.”
Stating that he always kept the focus on his work rather than labels, Mayar added, “I never told people about it. Many people don’t even know. On many sets, they didn’t know until after we finished the project… I believe in my work and I feel that it is that which leads you ahead in life.”
Harsh Mayar: I’m Proud That This Award Was Given To Me At A Very Early Age
Harsh Mayar revealed for him the award is a blessing, not a burden. He said, “I am proud that this award was given to me at a very early age. But if I work again and earn it through my craft, I will like it even more. There is no pressure. I work the way I like and that’s it.”
Having started young, the audience’s continued affection means the most to him. He said, “I like the fact that people still appreciate my old work not because it is going viral, but because they genuinely remember it… People still message me, they give me their time, they want to see my films. That kind of love is a blessing.”
As an outsider, Harsh believes only craft ensures longevity. He stated, “These days you’re visible only because of how good your work is… If you have something special, even if it takes time, you will stand out.”
Harsh Mayar’s journey proves that while trends shift, true talent never gets overshadowed. With One Two Cha Cha Chaa on the way, his steady rise continues, rooted in honesty, hard work, and the craft he deeply believes in.
