Hrishikesh Pandey On Khushi Mukherjee, Kangana Sharma Wearing Short Dresses For Media Attention
When asked about influencers like Khushi Mukherjee, Kangana Sharma, who wear short clothes to gain attention, Hrishikesh Pandey said, “I know no names. But many people are there. Maine kabhi-kabhi, jaise video suddenly aap scroll kar rahe ho aur aap dekhte ho, toh you feel sad. Mujhe aisa lagta hai, and yeh meri personal rai hai, main unko judge bhi nahi karta. Ho sakta hai unki koi majboori ho, ya ho sakta hai koi mentally stable na ho, kuch bhi ho sakta hai. So I’m not judging anybody like that.”
Hrishikesh Pandey Feels Bad For Influencers Like Khushi Mukherjee, Kangana Sharna
The CID fame said, “But you feel bad, because main media ko bhi blame karna chahunga. Media ka ek hissa, main poori media ko blame nahi kar raha hoon. Kyun? Kyunki media achhi bhi hai, aur usi mein kuch aise bhi hain jo is tarah ki cheezein banate hain. Kai baar aap dekhte ho, koi lady ja rahi hai, kapde nahi pehne… aap peeche-peeche ghoom rahe ho, ‘Ma’am, yahan turn karo, yeh karo, woh karo.’ What? Matlab hum log kahaan ja rahe hain, aur ab kya seekh de rahe hain hum log?”
The actor added, “Ek samay hota tha ki journalist matlab you know, ek kasam khaate the ki ‘Bhai, main journalist hoon, main achhai, sacchai, aur achhi cheezein dikhauga.’ Kya hai ki janata jo hai, they believe in that content jo aata hai. Jo aap dekhte ho news mein, ya jo bhi cheezein dekhte ho, you believe that ki yeh hai sacchai. Aur aap aisi cheezein dikhate ho raat-din, and isse aap unko badhava dete ho is type ke logon ko. Kal ko sab uth ke, matlab sadkon pe aise hi ghoomne lage.”
Concluding, he said, “There is a place in society. Hum log kya matlab—jungle raj toh hai nahi. We live in a society jahan pe aapki responsibility banti hai ki aap kaise bahar jaate ho. Har jagah jaane ke liye kuch tarah ke kapde bane hue hain, aap mandir mein waise kapde pehen ke jao, ya bahar ja rahe ho, ya party mein ja rahe ho—thik hai, understood, you know private space hai. But public basis mein yeh sab karna—definitely condemn that. And that’s not done.”
Exposure Culture In Bollywood
Khushi Mukherjee and Kangana Sharma, like many others in Bollywood, have faced scrutiny regarding their attire choices and the broader concept of ‘exposure’ within the industry. Khushi Mukherjee has been criticised for wearing revealing outfits. Some labelled it as ‘vulgar’ and an attack on Indian values. In response, she defended her choices, stating that her clothing style does not negate her cultural roots.
Kangana Sharma has also been noted for her bold fashion sense and appearances in music videos and shows with revealing attire. She acknowledges the trend of shorter dresses in the industry and maintains that her style is unique. This trend of ‘bold fashion’ or ‘almost nude’ outfits in Bollywood sparks debates about whether it’s a form of self-expression or a tactic to gain attention and go viral.
