Iqbal Khan

Iqbal Khan has shared his thoughts on another growing debate in the entertainment industry. Casting based on social media following. At a time when numbers and online presence are often seen as deciding factors, the actor believes the reality is far more nuanced. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Iqbal Khan offered a grounded perspective on talent, timing, and the role of social media in an actor’s journey. Read on to know what he had to say.

Iqbal Khan SLAMS Casting Based On Social Media Followers

Addressing the idea that followers can influence casting decisions, Iqbal Khan chose to look at the bigger picture rather than reduce it to a single factor. He said, “Main isko ek broad term mein batata hoon. Jab cheez honi hoti hai na, to woh ho jaati hai. Aapko sirf apna kaam karna hota hai. Aapko apni mehnat karni hoti hai.”

He stressed that while people may point to multiple reasons behind success or failure, one should stay focused. “Aur jab cheez nahi hoti hai, to uske bahut saare points nikal aate hain, kyun nahi hua. Hazaar log bolenge ki iski wajah se nahi ho raha, uski wajah se nahi ho raha. Par unhe nahi sunna chahiye. Shayad haan, casting ki wajah se bhi hota hoga. Lekin aap woh sab bhool jao. Aap apna imaan upar wale par rakho aur apna kaam imaandari se karo. Achha insaan banne ki koshish karo, kaam mil jayega.”

Iqbal Khan Reflects On How Having More Instagram Followers Doesn’t Guarantee Work

He further dismissed the idea of a fixed formula linking followers to opportunities. Pointing out that the industry does not function in such a predictable way. Sharing his own experience, Iqbal said, “Aur jo kaam milta hai na, uska bhi koi exact formula nahi hota. Yeh bhi koi nahi keh sakta ki zyada followers hone se zyada kaam milega. Aisa nahi hota. Bahut saare log hain jinke followers zyada nahi hain, phir bhi woh achha kaam kar rahe hain. Kuch log to Instagram par bhi nahi hain, phir bhi achha kaam karte hain. Main khud beech mein 4 saal Instagram par nahi tha, phir bhi maine kaafi kaam kiya. Mujhe samajh hi nahi aaya kaise.”

At the same time, he acknowledged the value of social media as a tool, especially for visibility and promotion, without giving it absolute importance. He said, “Toh yeh bhi ek math hai. Main yeh nahi keh raha ki social media par nahi hona chahiye, hona chahiye. Usse achhe se use karna chahiye. Woh ek important tool hai promotion ke liye. Lekin rozi-roti dene wala uppar wala hai, usko aap zyada importance dijiye.”

In conclusion, Iqbal Khan offered a balanced and practical take on the evolving casting landscape. While he did not completely dismiss the influence of social media, he made it clear that hard work, consistency, and faith matter more than numbers. For him, there is no fixed formula for success and that unpredictability is what defines the industry.
