Ishita Raj made her debut with Pyaar Ka Punchnama and gained popularity for her role in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Known for her chirpy, girl-next-door image, she is now set to portray a bold character in her upcoming film Human Cocaine, alongside Zakir Hussain. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Ishita Raj spoke about being labelled an ‘outsider’ and addressed whether she feels any pressure while working. Scroll down to read what she shared.
Ishita Raj Opens Up About Being Labelled An ‘Outsider’
When asked about being labelled as an outsider and whether it brings any added pressure while working on projects, Ishita Raj said, “Nahi nahi, aisa nahi hota hai. It is, I feel, at least from my experience I feel it is never ending. Even if you give a massive hit, the battle is ab mujhe is tareeke ka kaam karna hai ya mujhe is level ki films chaiye ya mujhe aisi script chaiye ya this is the kind of people I wanna work with. aur aisa nahi hai ki aapka bohot kuch chal gaya toh ab ghar baithe baithe kaam aayega. Even though I think so with the top stars, I am sure they have their own battles of choosing the right script.”
The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actress also added, “Har actor, ek level ke baad, they don’t just take anything that is offered to them. Then it has to be exciting, it has to be convincing, they should be excited ki mujhe is type ka kuch alag play karna hai. Toh, I feel it’s an ongoing loop. Aisa nahi hai ki aaj main launch hogaya hu, I have arrived aur ab ghar baithe baithe life is gonna be easy. I feel the industry looks glamorous, but the work behind it is too much.”
Zakir Hussain On Nepotism And Outsider Debate
Responding to the same question, Zakir Hussain shared, “Dekhiye kya hai, joh maine dekha hai, mujhse pehele logo ne dekha hoga, ki talent toh chaiye. Koi agar aapka support hai, woh aapko kaam nahi dilwa sakta. Woh aapko waha tak pohcha sakta hai. Yeh zarur hoga ki haan ki agar mera koi hai toh main car se jaa sakta hu. Nahi hai toh main bus se jaunga. Pohchunga main bhi wahi, pohchega woh bhi wahi. Uske baad toh aapko dikhana padega. Yeh tab bhi tha, yeh aaj bhi hai. Aapko crack karne ke liye hathode toh maarne padenge. Toh usme kya hi aapke liye cheezein waise aasan ho sakti hai.”
The actor further added, “Usko main aasan nahi kehta aur zimmedari badh jaati hai ki agar ek star-son ko launch kar rahe hai toh uske liye arrangements toh ho jayegi. Lekin bhai kaam toh usi ko karna padega na. Unke liye yeh sahuliyat aasan hai, lekin survival toh unhi ko karna hai. Survival aap pitaji ke naam pe nahi kar sakte. Aise humne dekhe hai bohot saare stars ke bacche nahi kar paaye kuch aur bohot saara accha kar raha hai. Toh jahaa tak ki main is baat ko maanta kam hun ki bahar ke log aur andar ke log toh 100 saal pehle bhi toh sab bahar ke the.‘Acha aap actor hai? Shakal toh tumhari majdoor jaisi hai.’ Ab woh prove karna hai toh hum toh talent pe prove kar sakte hai.“
