Kunal on Satish Kaushik and Raju Srivastav

Kemmu, who worked with Kaushik, in the actor’s last web series, Pop Kaun, recalled fondest memories with him. During the conversation, Kunal also spoke about working with late comedian Raju Srivastav, in the movie Kanjoos Makhichoos. When the actor was asked about his experience of working with Satish Kaushik and Srivastav, he termed it to be ‘amazing’ and mentioned being their fans.

Speaking of the experience of working with Satish Kaushik, Kunal Kemmu told Bollywood Bubble, “It was amazing.” He added, “I mean, I have been a fan boy of both of them.”

Talking about Kaushik further, the actor continued, “Satish ji I have known since I was a kid. On and off. This was the first time I worked with him. He’s somebody whose been around for such a long time and has worn such different hats- A producer, a director, a phenomenal actor. And, he’s done so much. He’s sung songs. So, he’s done everything.

Kunal added, “He was somebody who loved cinema. He loved people who worked in cinema. He was encouraging towards all of them. He was always open to having conversations, sharing his experiences. And, you were just happy when you were in his company.”

Opening up about Raju Srivastav, Kemmu continued, “And, the same thing I would like to extend about Raju Ji also. I didn’t know him as well as I knew Satish Ji, but I was a fan boy. I grew up watching stand-up pieces. Even on YouTube, like his videos or when he was a part of the Laughter Challenge and even the appearances he made in films. So, you always knew that there is this person who makes you laugh. And, these are people when they walk on to a set or anywhere, you see a smile on people’s faces. And, that’s how you remember them. If you close your eyes and think about them, you’ll see a smiling face.

He added, “And, what I have to say about Raju Ji is what I admired about him, was the professionalism that he still brought to set. He was still hardworking like it was his first film, or it was his first gig. With his lines, with his improvisations, with the director, or with me, when he was prepping for a scene. And, like, there’s so much respect for all of that. And, the fact that he loved his craft so much. And, he kept honing his skills like a student, even now. It meant so much. It’s unfortunate that we’re talking about all these people in the past. And these are our dedications to them, with this film, we’re honouring them. But, their legacy will always live.”
