Mohit Suri Reveals How He And Emraan Hashmi Survived In Bollywood

Speaking of how he and Emraan Hashmi have a great ear for music and it continues to be loved, filmmaker Mohit Suri said, “So that’s what happened with Emraan Hashmi too. We started our careers together, and I think we could survive in the industry through music. I must give it to Emraan, the way he believed in the director, never interfered in what was good and bad, actually, before we were making great music. He kept lip syncing so well, he carried everything off. For me, different artists, singers carried everything off. But to cut a show, it was a way of survival. We didn’t have big stars, and we realised we didn’t have big promotion budgets.”

The filmmaker added, “But making music was the only thing we had. You played one song, people liked it, and they played it on themselves. So we worked very hard on the music, and I’m not saying I was special. I don’t know if any skill, major, or minor and I cannot play any instrument. The only thing I liked about music was like a viewer or audience. And then I think today, I have never put any pressure on my music director to give a hit. I have never compared them, saying give me a Tum Hi Ho or anything. So I never pass it on to anyone. The music directors, lyricists, and composers, what would I be without them? Arijit, Todhi Sharib, Amit Mishra, Ishaan bhai, Sayyed bhai, these are the guys who have contributed to my life; they are the stars of my life.”
