Mouni Roy Admits Losing Loved Ones Early On

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Mouni Roy shares an anecdote about losing her best friend and father at a young age. She says, “I will talk about two fears, one that I haven’t overcome and one that I have. The fear I haven’t overcome is the fear of losing someone, of losing people. I think that’s why I love life so much and hold my near and dear ones so close to me. Having experienced loss early on, I lost my best friend when I was 23 and my father when I was 24 and and so on. That fear, I don’t think I will ever be able to fully overcome.”

She continued, “The fear I have overcome, though, is the fear of being judged. It doesn’t matter what people think. Nobody else is running your family, and nobody else is there for you during your good times and bad times. I’m talking about the outer circle — acquaintances and distant connections. You know who your true friends and family are, the ones who truly care. Focus on them, focus on yourself, know your priorities, and that’s all that really matters.”

Mouni Roy On Dealing With Negativity

When asked how she copes with negativity, she says, “I think not dealing with something or not wanting to deal with it — is also a way of dealing with it. When it comes to people’s opinions, how can I change what someone thinks about me? You can be, like they say, the best-tasting potato dish in the world, and yet someone might still not like it. There’s nothing you can do about that. “

She added, “I don’t believe in being a people pleaser. My work is out there for everyone to see, judge, and criticize. People who show me love — I will bow down, thank them, and be genuinely grateful.”

She concluded with, “Those who offer constructive criticism — I will also thank them and try to apply their feedback to my next project or future endeavors. And for those who simply spread hate — I will say “thank you,” wish them well, and move on.”
