Paalin Kabak Requests Makers To STOP Casting Him As Chinese, Japanese Or North Eastern Characters

When asked what roles he is looking forward to doing next, Paalin Kabak said, “Dekhiye, mujhe koi bhi character de dein, main katarata nahi hoon. Main actor hoon, kuch bhi kar sakta hoon. Lekin mera ek concern hamesha rehta hai. Please mujhe Chinese, Japanese, ya sirf ‘Northeast wala’ stereotype roles mat dijiye. Aksar casting directors yahi soch kar mere paas aate hain, aur main unse kehta hoon: ‘Mujhe kuch bhi bana dijiye — main kar loonga. But yeh Chinese-Japanese stereotype mat dijiye.’ Sirf isliye nahi ki main Arunachal se hoon toh mujhe wahi dikhana zaroori hai.”

He continued, “Main victim card bhi nahi khelna chahta. Aur naa hi sirf apni ethnicity ke base pe typecast hona chahta hoon. Haan, Chinese/Japanese roles milenge toh paise zaroor mil jayenge, but aisa paisa lekar kya karna, jab representation galat ho? Main yahan ka hoon, India ka, Arunachal Pradesh ka — the land of rising sun. Aur honestly, mujhe lagta hai main mainland Indians se bhi zyada Indian hoon. Yeh main proudly keh sakta hoon. Jo patriotism hum Arunachalis ke andar hota hai, woh baaki jagah utna nahi hota. Isliye mera bas yahi kehna hai — baaki roles koi bhi kara lo, main kar loonga, result dunga. Bas stereotype waale roles mat dijiye.”
