Ranvir Shorey CLAIMS Akshay Kumar’s Chandni Chowk To China Had A Strong Script That Was Poorly Executed
When asked about his film Chandni Chowk To China, if the script and execution varied, Ranvir Shorey replied, “I think… I think the script was better than the film for sure.”
Speaking of who all are involved in scripting and taking decisions to make any changes, the actor answered, “Producer aur director — yeh producer aur director ke haath, matlab responsibility ke khaate mein hi jaata hai, frankly. If a script is good and the film is not able to meet that standard, right? Then definitely yeh wahi area hai jahan somewhere jo chook hui hai, woh producer-director ki hui hai. Yeh toh seedhi baat hai.”
About Chandni Chowk To China
Chandni Chowk to China (CC2C) was a 2009 Hindi-language martial arts action-comedy that fuses classic Bollywood musical flair with Chinese-style chopsocky action. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the film was co-produced and distributed in the U.S. by Warner Bros. Pictures, marking the studio’s first venture into Hindi cinema.
Released on January 16, 2009, it received largely negative reviews. Critics pointed to issues in the script and pacing, though its action sequences and music earned some appreciation. The film also sparked controversy, leading to a ban in Nepal, and its commercial failure reportedly contributed to Warner Bros. shutting down its Indian film production division.
