Sadia Khateeb

The Diplomat actress Sadia Khateeb has spoken out about the importance of women standing up for themselves against domestic violence and sexual abuse. She emphasised that silence only empowers the oppressor and urged women to seek help and fight for justice.

Sadia Khateeb Says Women Should Stand Up For Themselves

Sadia highlighted the need for awareness, stronger legal support, and societal change to protect survivors. She believes that every woman deserves respect, safety, and the right to live without fear and should know their rights. In an intense conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Sadia said, “It’s absolutely wrong and it’s every sense it’s wrong. Even in our character and even generally in space, if a woman doesn’t stand up for herself, nobody else will come to stand up for you. It’s a very real fact. It’s an unfortunate thing. I wish we had people around us, we had a community around us, like that who’s ready to, like how JP is willing to come and help Uzma, or how Sushma ji is willing to come and help Uzma, but that is only possible when Uzma took a stand. Come out of that space and ask for help. See, people are ready to help you even in these situations where domestic violence and, sexual abuse are happening at home with women who are victims.”

Through her work, she hopes to inspire women to find their strength, raise their voices, and never tolerate any form of abuse or oppression. She further added, “I feel extremely sorry for them. I absolutely empathize with them, but as a woman, our core should be courage. We women are strong creatures, we need to know our rights, and we need to have courage. If we are weak, agar hum kamzoor rahe na toh hume cheeti ki tarah masal diya jayega. Hum chaye kisi bhi field mei rahe agar hum kamzoor rahe hume koi nahi support karega, hume apne liye stand lena hai vaise aurtein hai na gharo mei jo domestic violence se joojh rahi hai mai unse kahungi ki khud ki tum madat nahi karoge toh khuda tumhari madat nahi karega. Recognize the fact that you are a victim recognize the fact that what’s going on is wrong. Hum pyaar mei hote hai hume samjah nahi aata hai. We have to know that nahi, pyaar mein ho, nafrat mein ho, haath nahi laga sakta, pyaar mein ho, rafrat mein ho, shadi mein ho, bina shadi ke ho, chhu nahi sakta hai bina ijazat ke. So, we have to know our rights. We, like, educate women and young girls from the core. School-based education de do ki yaar, apne rights bata do aur bata do ki yaar, the strong rahna hai.”
