EXCLUSIVE: Sai Tamhankar Recalls Giving A ‘Karara Jawab’ When Faced With A Casting Couch Calls Years Ago; Acknowledges, “When You’re A Woman, You Have To Face It Everywhere”

Sai Tamhankar is a film and television actress known for her work primarily in Marathi and Hindi films. She began her career in TV in Marathi series like Tuzyavina (2003) and Ya Gojirvanya Gharat. She later appeared in the Hindi daily soap Kasturi and Anubandh (both 2007). Sai made her film debut in 2008 in Subhash Ghai’s Black & White and Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, followed by her Marathi film debut in the comedy Sanai Choughade (2008). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Sai Tamhankar recalls giving a karara jawab during a casting couch experience years back.

Sai Tamhankar Opens Up On Casting Couch

When asked if she had any casting couch experiences, Sai Tamhankar remarked, “Can I say something? Na sirf hamare profession mein nahi, yeh such things happen everywhere, right? And when you are a human being, especially a woman, you have to face this everywhere, not just here. Having said that, fortunately, mere saath kabhi aisa nahi hua hai. There was one random phone call many, many, many years ago that I got, and I had a karara jawab to it.”

She concluded, “I think it also depends on how you conduct yourself—your intent. I think if it’s in the right place, you don’t have anything to worry about. So, it’s not that nahi hota hoga. I’m not saying nahi hota hai, but I’m just saying one should know how to handle it. One should know ki this is not the only way, you know? Things can work out without this, and they can—there are so many examples.”
