Playing cricketers’ biopics in Bollywood has become a much-loved genre, and Sharad Malhotra has revealed he would want to play Rohit Sharma’s biopic someday. The actor is best known for his roles in Banoo Main Teri Dulhan and Bharat Ka Veer Putra- Maharana Pratap. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor admitted why he wants to play Rohit Sharma’s biopic. He calls Virat Kohli a Gen-Z star. Scroll down to read more.

Sharad Malhotra On Playing Rohit Sharma’s Biopic

When asked which cricketer he would want to play on the big screen, Sharad Malhotra said, “Mujhe, I think, dekhiye, cricket ka toh shauk I think hum sabko hai. Aur school-vagarah, college mein bahut khela humne. Aur pata nahi, kabhi socha nahi aisa, I think Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma personally mujhe bahut acche khiladi bhi lagte hain aur bahut interesting character bhi hain. I think maine unko thoda bahut off-field bhi dekha hai, aur on-field toh hum sabne dekha hi hai. I think bahut bindass hain yaar wo. Jis tarah khelte hain aur jis tarah unka natural flair hai, I think wo kamaal ka hai. Aur wo sochte nahi matlab ekdum non-filter kai baar baatein kar dete hain. Toh mujhe accha lagta hai ki unki baatein dil se hoti hain. So I think that’s a very interesting character to play.”

Sharad Malhotra On Playing Virat Kohli

When the host asked if he would be interested in playing Virat Kohli, the actor said, “Virat bhi dekhiye, matlab Virat toh I think bahut log play karna chahte hain. I think wo ek aise Gen Z star hain ki I think Virat ko toh hum sab aspire karte hain ki kabhi play karein. Lekin Rohit Sharma ka character mujhe bahut hi interesting lagta hai. Aur Dhoni ka toh already I think Sushant ne itna accha play kiya tha ki mujhe lagta hai koi use touch kar paayega kabhi. But yes, I think Rohit is one character.”

Sharad Malhotra’s recent projects are TV series Ek Anjaan Rishtey ka Guilt 4, music videos, and a potential role in a film. He recently portrayed Lord Krishna in the Hari Om App series Jai Jagannath.
