Sufi Motiwala Picks Between Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena And More In Epic Fashion Face-Offs

In a fun interview round with Bollywood Bubble, Sufi Motiwala reacted to dandyism looks of Karan Johar and SRK from the Met Gala. He said, “Karan completely overshadowed Shah Rukh in this one. I mean, I need this belt! Oh my god, I famously hated Shah Rukh’s look, and I think everybody knows that. That’s why, in fact, I’d still prefer Karan’s look over his. What really went wrong with Mr. Khan here is that the theme was Black Dandies. Now, dandyism is all about rebellion while still being subversive and fashionable—none of which comes through in his outfit.”

He continued, “This just looks like Shah Rukh Khan on any regular red carpet he cares about. You don’t see the Met Gala theme, no references, nothing. It feels uninspired, especially since we’ve already seen him in this style many times before. If he did go all the way to New York, paid that much for the seat, and even asked Sabyasachi to design the look, then at least some effort could have been put into creating something memorable. Agar itna paise aur mehnat aur kharcha kiya hi gaya hai toh thoda braincell bhi use kar lete”

Sufi Motiwala On Celebrity Pregnancy Fashion

Comparing the pregnancy fashion looks of Deepika and Alia, Sufi shared, ” I have this story that I have to tell you. When Deepika was pregnant, I bumped into her at one of the functions, and I remember I held her hand and said, “You’re so beautiful. You’ve done maternity fashion in ways that nobody could ever do it.” And I just started crying because she was looking so radiant and so epic. She hugged me, said goodbye, and that’s the story.”

He further went on to rate the looks saying, “Honestly, 10 out of 10. I think pregnancy fashion is so special because anyone who decides to share their pregnancy with the world deserves respect. As public figures or professional actors, it’s not part of their job to share their pregnancy, marriage, or any aspect of their personal lives with us. So the fact that they do means we should be kind and graceful with them. No one needs to tell them how to look.

Talking about how Deepika was trolled for her belly size, Sufi reacted, “I found that garbage behavior really disrespectful. People were passing commentary like, “Oh my god, she doesn’t even look pregnant, she’s lying,” and I was just like, who the hell are you, bro? Go home, get a job or something. It was very, very disrespectful. I even made a video about it, saying clearly, do not. That’s not cool.”

Sufi Motiwala On Kareena’s Iconic Look And Its Recreation

When asked to compare Kareena Kapoor’s iconic ‘Poo’ look with that of Ananya Panday’s recreation, Sufi said, “Can i tell you some looks are so iconic because jaise this is a ready to wear look. The reason why it is iconic is because of the time that it was shown. It’s not iconic anymore. in the sense that if you redo this now, sab log yeh hi pehn rahe hai aaj kal regular fashion mein bhi, a short skirt and a cut out top. So its not cool anymore but at the time that bebo did it and the way she did is what was cool So 10 and 5″

He further added, “ Nobody can touch her. I think its stupid to try to replicate it because the original is so iconic that everything will fall short”
