Tanya Mittal, one of the most talked-about personalities in recent times after the success of Bigg Boss 19, has weighed in on the growing debate around negative publicity in the entertainment industry amid the alleged paid media controversy involving AP Dhillon and Tara Sutaria. After Tara recently accused unnamed parties of running a targeted negative PR campaign against her and the singer, conversations around how narratives are manufactured online have gained momentum. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Tanya shared her perspective on paid negativity, power dynamics and whether she sees parallels with her own experiences. Read on to know all she shared.
Tanya Mittal On Tara Sutaria-AP Dhillon Controversy
Reacting to the controversy, Tanya Mittal said she believes such campaigns often indicate the influence and strength of the people being targeted. “Mujhe lagta hai Tara ko proud feel karna chahiye. Matlab joh bohot powerful log hote hai unke khilaf aise campaign karne padte hai, ki hum kaise negative dikhaye. Aur fir bhi woh itni barbie doll jaisi hai ki itna kehne ke baad bhi uska kya hi kuch kar paa rahe ho? Matlab aise hi mera case hai ki aap paid media ke liye 7–8 agency kar lo, sabko 20–20 lakh rupey de do aur bolo mere liye bura bole. Kyunki yeh sab kuch mere saath chaar mahine ho chuka hai, fir uske baad bhi woh mujhe bura saabit nahi kar paaye na,” she said.
Tanya further explained that she does not necessarily believe there is always a single mastermind orchestrating negativity. Instead, she feels people often act under influence or pressure. “Main yaar aise nahi sochti hoon. Meri soch bohot alag hai. Main yeh sochti hoon ki yeh sab jo negative ho raha hai mere liye, jo log kar rahe hai, ya toh yeh kisi ki majboori hai. Jaise Amaal (Malik) hai, usse koi bhadka raha hoga. Varna mujhe nahi lagta woh mere liye itna bura kar sakta hai. Woh bohot achha insaan hai. Koi hai jo usko negative feed kar raha hai ki aisa kar do. Baaki, he’s also a nice person,” she shared.
Tanya Mittal Chooses Positivity
Adding further, Tanya said she views criticism and negativity as part of destiny and personal growth rather than something meant to break her. “Jitne log mere liye bura keh rahe hai, mujhe lagta hai woh sirf nimit matra hai. Agar woh meri burai karenge toh main aur strong ke aaungi, shayad main apne baare mein aur achha prove karu. Toh yeh sab meri niyati hai, joh hona hai mere saath. I can overcome anything. Once I’m outside, my family is there. Koi mera kuch nahi bigaad sakta,” she added.
The AP Dhillon–Tara Sutaria controversy has reignited conversations about how external forces actively shape public narratives in the digital age, where perception often travels faster than facts. Tanya’s remarks underscore the emotional and psychological resilience individuals must build to navigate constant public scrutiny.
As the debate around paid media and negative PR continues to divide opinion, Tanya Mittal’s perspective reinforces the need for inner strength, strong support systems and clarity of intent when navigating online narratives. With more celebrities speaking out against manufactured controversies, the industry continues to push the conversation around accountability and ethical media practices forward.
