Uzair Baloch Danish Pandor Rehman Dakait Akshaye Khanna Dhurandhar

After making a substantial impact as Uzair Baloch in the globally successful Dhurandhar, Danish Pandor continues to draw attention for his intense screen presence and layered performances. While much has been said about the film’s scale and powerful cast, one moment that unexpectedly went viral was Akshaye Khanna’s dance sequence, a scene that audiences didn’t see coming. In an exclusive interaction, Danish shared behind-the-scenes details about that now-iconic moment and also reflected on his evolving working relationship with Akshaye Khanna. Read on to know more.

Danish Pandor on Akshaye Khanna’s Impromptu Dance in Dhurandhar

Recalling Akshaye Khanna’s viral dance scene, Danish Pandor explained how organic and unplanned the moment actually was. He shared, “Jab Rehman bhai ko takht pe bithaya jaa raha tha, aur Sher-e-Baloch ka khitaab diya jaa raha tha, toh woh set-up jis tarah se execute kiya gaya tha… jab hum gaadi mein aate hain aur pehli baar Sheraani se mukhatib hote hain, tab gaana chal raha hota hai.”

He further revealed that none of the actors had any prior idea that Akshaye would break into a dance. “Humein bilkul bhi andaaza nahi tha ki woh dance karne wale hai, to be really honest. Unhone achanak dekha ki andar choreography chal rahi hai, Vijay Ganguly apne dancers ke saath puri choreography bitha rahe the,” he said.

Danish credited Akshaye Khanna’s instinct as an actor for making the moment memorable. “That is the sharpness of an actor. Woh mahaul dekh ke unhone apni taraf se puri tarah se dance karna shuru kar diya. Phir humne socha hum bhi shuru kar dete hain, dance karna toh zaroori hai,” he added jockingly, emphasising how spontaneity elevated the scene. According to him, “Yeh ek khoobsurti hoti hai actor ki, that he stays in the moment and understands the environment and what more he can add to it.”

Danish Pandor on Working Again With Akshaye Khanna

Talking about his equation with Akshaye Khanna beyond this moment, Danish shared that, while they had previously worked together in Chhaava, they hadn’t interacted much back then. “Akshaye sir ke saath maine Chhaava mein bhi kaam kiya hai, lekin tab humara itna raabta nahi tha kyunki main zyada action sequences mein tha. Main sirf khabre leke aata tha aur phir Sangameshwar mein Sambhaji Maharaj ko lekar aaya tha,” he recalled.

However, Dhurandhar completely changed that dynamic. “Dhurandhar ke dauraan humari bohot baat hui,” Danish shared, noting how the film allowed for deeper conversations, creative exchange, and mutual understanding between the two actors.

As Dhurandhar continues to be celebrated for both its scale and performances, moments like Akshaye Khanna’s spontaneous dance and the camaraderie between its cast highlight what truly makes cinema memorable — actors being present, instinctive, and open to the magic of the moment. Danish Pandor’s reflections offer a rare glimpse into that process, reminding audiences that sometimes the most viral scenes are born not out of planning but of pure instinct.
