Abhishek Sharrma Shares His Most Cherished Tradition For Diwali

Abhishek Sharrma, who is currently winning hearts with his portrayal of Dev in Vasudha on Zee TV, has carved a special place for himself with his sincerity, charm, and grounded nature. As the festival of lights approaches, the actor opened up about how he celebrates Diwali. For him, the festival is more than just a celebration — it’s a heartfelt homecoming to his roots and a time filled with cherished memories.

Abhishek Sharrma Reveals Diwali Is Very Close To His Heart

He spent last year’s celebrations in Mumbai, but this year he’s going back to his hometown to celebrate the event with family, friends, and the warmth of tradition. “Diwali is very close to my heart,” he shares with Bollywood Bubble. “This year, I’m going back to Muzaffarnagar, where I was born and raised. Visiting my grandmother’s house, wandering through the local markets lit up with festive décor, it’s like reliving my childhood.”

Abhishek’s Diwali traditions are charmingly old-fashioned; he gives out sweets, visits his neighbours, and stays up late playing games with his siblings. One of his favourite traditions is to go to his grandmother’s house, come back home for the Diwali pujan, and then go out with family and friends to visit the night markets.

Despite a packed shooting schedule, Abhishek makes time for the festival’s essence. “Work is always a priority, but I find ways to celebrate around it,” he says. “I woke up at 5 AM to clean the house before heading to shoot. After pack-up, I light diyas and perform Laxmi Puja.” When he does get time off, it’s all about indulgence and togetherness. “I help decorate the house, hang lanterns, and eat loads of food. My cheat meal? Kaju katli, chaat, and my mom’s home-cooked dishes. That’s my Diwali joy.”

From balancing shoots to savouring street food, Abhishek’s festive spirit has been a blend of discipline and delight. His Diwali message? Celebrate with heart, honour your traditions, and never underestimate the joy of a well-lit home and a plate full of mithai.
