The condition is a major hindrance in Naina Mathur's (Rani Mukerji) life, and she has to battle hard to live her dream as a teacher. She uses unconventional teaching methods to discipline and educate underprivileged students, who turn out to be successful individuals in their respective fields.

This 2007 film featuring Aamir Khan as art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh brought to light the travails of a dyslexic child played by Darsheel Safary. It is about how Ishaan (Safary) tries to cope with his problem. He is helped by his teacher Nikumbh who uses innovative remedial techniques to help him.
