Kareena Kapoor Khan is said to be one of the highest paid actresses in Bollywood today. Not only this, Kareena is billed as the most sought-after face on the brand endorsement front too. She has a whopping 16 brands in her kitty, ranging from beverages to biscuits.
Foodie by birth
Her favourite cuisine is Italian and her favourite dish is spaghetti. A self-titled foodie, Kapoor believes in portion control and small meals throughout the day. Although Kareena's prescribed diet includes parathas, momos, cheese, pasta and bananas, which are mostly considered fattening, it is her daily practice of yoga that keeps her fit. Kapoor credits yoga as her favourite fitness activity. According to her yoga instructor, she is a star pupil and can do 50 surya namaskars and hold complex poses for longer than 30 seconds.
The trendsetter behind 'Size zero'
She had set the trend of 'size zero' in India. The fashionista's favourite designer is Manish Malhotra who was also called to design her wedding trousseau.
Kareena had joined Mithibai College, Mumbai, to pursue a degree in Commerce which she discontinued to switch to law. She had also enrolled in Harvard University for a three-month summer course in micro-computers.
The inspiration behind her name
Kareena Kapoor’s name is derived from the classic 'Anna Karenina' which her mother Babita had been reading while she was pregnant. She is fondly called 'Bebo'.
In 'Heroine', Kareena wore 138 different designer dresses. Her wardrobe for the film is the most expensive wardrobe till date.
Struggle in the industry
Her actor father Randhir Kapoor wasn’t too keen on his daughter joining films. But her mother Babita, a former actress, thought differently. Her parents separated and her mother raised Kareena and her elder sister Karisma single-handedly. And now Kareena is an integral part of the film fraternity.
A twist in Bollywood debut
Kareena was slated to make her debut with Hrithik Roshan in the blockbuster 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai'. But she opted out for performance-oriented 'Refugee', opposite the then-newcomer Abhishek Bachchan.
