‘Golmaal 4’ is a remake of a South film?

We had recently reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan will no longer be a part of the Rohit Shetty directorial ‘Golmaal 4‘ as she is pregnant. Now, there is some more news about this fourth instalment of ‘Golmaal’ franchise.

Reportedly, ‘Golmaal 4’ is a remake of a 2013 Tamil black comedy film ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ (Evil Engulfs) that starred Vijay Sethupathi and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles. Although, an insider begged to differ and informed a daily that “Expect Rohit to add something of his own to the script. Even the main plot of ‘Golmaal 3’ was said to be inspired by ‘Khatta Meetha’, but nothing else was similar in the film.”

The movie will see actors Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu essay the characters of three broke friends, while Ajay Devgn plays the protagonist Das. Kareena was to play Devgn’s lover in the film, but she can’t be a part of ‘Golmaal 4’ as she’s due this December and ‘Golmaal 4’ starts shooting in October.
