Yash starrer KGF actor Harish Roy who played Khasim Chacha has been battling cancer for years now. He has revealed his struggles with cancer to an YouTube channel. Harish played an important role in the Kannada film. In the interview, he revealed that he first discovered a small lump in his throat about four years ago. But he was afraid of surgery and he wanted to finish KGF.

Harish told YouTube channel called Gopi Gowdru, “My kids were very young and I was afraid of surgery on the throat. So I thought let me finish KGF. I’ll gain a good name, and then I can take the risk.” But at that time his cancer had spread to his lungs and his lungs started to accumulate water. Another reason to put off his surgery was because he didn’t have any money at first. He is the at the fourth stage now.

“There is a reason I had a long beard when performing in KGF, to cover up the swelling in my neck that this disease has created,” he said.

The actor also said that while making the KGF movies, Harish was frequently running out of breath. Due to financial problems, he was not able to afford the treatment at a private hospital, so one of his friends referred him to the state-run cancer institute Kidwai. There he underwent surgery followed by a radiation therapy but it didn’t improve his condition. He was informed by a doctor that his illness has reached the fourth stage.

Harish was later put on a new course of treatment. He was told there were other options that he couldn’t afford as they were expensive. “The doctors have told me that it’s curable. I am feeling a lot better now because of the treatment”.He is now asking people for financial help through the YouTube video interview.
