In a piece of sad news, one of the popular Malayalam actors Rizabawa passed away at a private hospital in Kochi on Monday. The actor was 55 and is survived by his wife, daughter, and son-in-law. According to a report, the actor was hospitalized recently after suffering a stroke. As per reports, the actor was undergoing treatment for kidney-related issues and was away from the film industry for a long time.

Several fans, Malayalam actors and celebs have been taking to their respective social media accounts to pay condolences to the late actor. Shaji Kailas, who directed Rizabawa’s maiden movie wrote, “We used to regularly speak and spoke very recently also. His bowing out so young is difficult to come to terms with… I have lost a good friend and above all a very good human being.”
Veteran actor, and Malayalam actors body AMMA’s former chief, Innocent, who also featured in Rizabawa’s debut film, mourned the untimely demise.

He wrote, “Even though we all will react to the news of a colleague passing away with words like unexpected, sad and whatnot, I am genuinely feeling deeply sad. He was a genuinely very nice person and above all someone who was very quiet and did his work with a lot of passion. We will all miss him.”

On one hand, Dulquer Salmaan wrote, “No matter which role he took up, he always made it memorable. My heartfelt condolences to the family of Rizabawa Ikka.” And on other hand, Prithviraj Sukumaran penned, “Rest in peace!.”

Speaking of Rizabawa, he made his acting debut with a play and then he made his M-town debut with the film called Vishupakshi in 1984. However, the movie was never released. Six years later, he rose to fame after sharing screen space with actress Parvathy in the movie Dr. Pasupathuy. In the same year, he became the talk of the town with his role as a villain in comedy-thriller In Harihar Nagar.

Since then there was no looking back for him. He later went on to feature in around 120 movies and was part of hits such as Champakulam Thachan (1992), Kabuliwala (1993), Bandhukal Shatrukal (1993), Ezhupunna Tharakan (1999), Nerariyan CBI (2005) and The King and the Commissioner (2012). He had also done TV shows.

He was also one of the renowned dubbing artists and had won the Kerala state award in 2010 for his work in the film Karmayogi.
