Superstar Rajinikanth on Monday (July 12) announced that he has dissolved his political outfit Rajini Makkal Mandram. He also said that he has no plans to enter politics in the future. The Annaatthe actor made the announcement after his meeting with RMM functionaries on Monday.

As per a report in ANI, Rajinikanth told, “I have decided to dissolve Rajini Makkal Mandram. The office-bearers of the Rajinikanth Makkal Mandram would continue to be part of the Rajinikanth Fan Club Association that will involve itself in public service”. He further said, “I don’t have plans to enter politics in future”.

A few days back, Thalaivaa returned from the USA to his hometown Chennai and told reporters, “Should the Makkal Mandram be continued and if so, what will be its functions and these are questions among the functionaries and fans. There are also questions as to whether or not I am going to come to politics in the future”.

The actor said that he would not join politics due to health reasons as he underwent a kidney transplant in 2016. It was on June 19, Rajinikanth and his wife Latha were spotted at the Chennai International Airport as they were traveling to the US. He went for a health check-up to the US.

On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in Annaatthe that will be releasing this Diwali. The movie also stars Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Meena, and Khushbu Sundar in key roles.
