Rumours of supernatural thriller ‘Raaz Reboot’ being leaked online has been denied by filmmaker Vikram Bhatt. The director revealed that the leaked version was just a bogus film that was made available online to warn the miscreants. Earlier the lead actor of the film Emraan Hashmi had tweeted urging his fans not to watch the leaked version of ‘Raaz Reboot’ online but to go and watch it in the theatres.

Vikram Bhatt denying the rumours said, “It’s not really leaked. We put in a bogus file because we know what’s been happening for the past few films, and we have understood that. I was amazed to see that within 10 to 15 minutes of the news being leaked that the film is online, 5,000 downloads had happened. 5,000 downloads of a film which was not even ‘Raaz Reboot’. So this is how Torrents is destroying the business. Now this (planting a bogus file) is our way of warning those people to stay away from our content. So, no, the film has not leaked.”

He further added that a film’s leak online causes immense damage to its box office. ‘Great Grand Masti’ too suffered immense loss at the box office due to it being leaked online a few days prior to its release. He appealed to the audience that they should watch the movies in theatre.

Vikram even added that he cannot blame the Censor Board for the films’ leak as he does not think that anybody in the censor body is behind the leaks, “I don’t think that the censor board is leaking copies. I know I have an ongoing fight with the censor board, but that doesn’t mean that I am going to stand up and say that ‘Censor Board leaked the copy’. That’s not true.”

‘Raaz Reboot’ is the fourth and the final in the series of the very hit franchise. The film marks the debut of Kriti Kharbanda opposite Emraan Hashmi. It will release on September 16.
