Dominic McLaughlin’s Look As Harry Potter UNVEILED; Upcoming TV Series Begins Filming

The world of Harry Potter is coming back — this time as a brand-new television series. HBO has officially started production on its highly anticipated Harry Potter reboot, and fans just got their first look at the new actor playing the famous wizard.

New Harry Potter TV Series Begins Filming

In a newly released image, Dominic McLaughlin appears in full costume as Harry Potter, complete with Hogwarts robes, round glasses, and the iconic lightning bolt scar. While longtime fans may remember Daniel Radcliffe in the role, McLaughlin is set to bring Harry to life for a new generation of viewers.

Filming has begun at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, the same location used for the original movies. The show is expected to premiere in 2027. HBO promises this version will be a “faithful adaptation” of J.K. Rowling’s original books.

Joining McLaughlin are Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Other cast members include Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

Several well-known actors have also joined the project in major roles. Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape, John Lithgow will take on the role of Albus Dumbledore, and Katherine Parkinson has been cast as Molly Weasley.

This new series begins more than a decade after the final Harry Potter movie was released in 2011. Since then, the magical world has expanded with a stage play, theme parks, and video games.

According to HBO, the series will bring a fresh cast, detailed storytelling, and the same magical world fans have loved for over 25 years — promising a new adventure for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
