The magical world of Harry Potter is returning to screens with a brand-new TV series — and a fresh young cast! HBO has revealed the new faces who will play the famous trio of Hogwarts students. Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter. Arabella Stanton will take on the role of Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will be Ron Weasley.

Harry Potter Reboot As New TV Series And Cast

These roles were originally made famous by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the eight Harry Potter movies. HBO made the announcement with a fun Hogwarts-style message on Instagram and wrote, “Dear Mr. Potter, Miss Granger, and Mr. Weasley: We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Please welcome Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley to the HBO Original Series Harry Potter.”

Joining the main trio is a strong supporting cast include John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Professor Snape, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Professor Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch

Fans are very excited. After eight Harry Potter movies and three Fantastic Beasts films, this is the first time the magical story will be told as a TV show. Many are looking forward to seeing how the new actors bring these beloved characters to life for a new generation.
