The marketing team working on the scene for The Devil Wears Prada 2 is working overtime. The sequel that the rom-com crowd has been waiting over two decades for kept surfacing in headlines earlier this year, with a proper confirmation finally dropping in May. It then moved into production as July arrived. And since then, the streets of New York City have become a Runway. Anne Hathaway once again captured fans’ hearts when she shared a video of herself preparing to head to work for Devil Wears Prada 2. What’s new is that Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, the first look has gone viral

Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway Spotted Shooting For Devil Wears Prada 2 In NYC

While many thought that was all the intel they’d get until the film hits theatres down the line, Anne has been having quite some fun on her Instagram. She even shared her first glimpse stepping back into her Andy Sachs era. However, her outfit choice suggests Miranda Priestly’s sartorial influence from the original film has stuck with her.

Soon after, she was spotted wandering the streets of NYC, reminiscent of her early Runway days. A casual trench coat ensemble, stopping traffic, even made its way to the internet. Until it was completely overshadowed by Meryl Streep’s Miranda! Dressed in tan, beige and sporting her signature layered white crop bob, it’s safe to say Miranda’s first appearance in the film stole the show from Andy.

Miranda stands poised in her red-bowed heels, a casual white blouse, a slim-fit black skirt, and a light beige trench for layering. The shell-rimmed sunglasses add a chic touch. Meanwhile, Andy exudes updated “rich millennial” energy in her perfectly fitted wide-leg white pants and an oversized white t-shirt. White pumps, chunky jewellery, and rimmed sunglasses finish her look. Both are being directed to pose in a shot that’s now going viral, raising a host of questions.

Kenneth Branagh has been cast as Miranda’s husband, while Patrick Bremmall is set to play Andy’s love interest. The supporting cast has expanded with Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, and Pauline Chalamet all onboard for undisclosed roles. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is aiming for a May release next year.
