The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards were on Sunday, September 7 at New York’s UBS Arena and saw some of the biggest names in the music world be bestowed with top honours. Ariana Grande won several awards last night, including video of the year for her song Brighter Days Ahead. Grande also won the Best Pop and Best Longformat Video awards. Sabrina Carpenter also took home three ‘Moon Person’ trophies, including album of the year with Short n’ Sweet.
Lady Gaga emerged as the biggest winner of the night having been named artist of the year. The singer – who was recently forced to cancel a show in Miami due to an ‘extremely strained’ voice, said in her acceptance speech that she couldn’t stick around for the rest of the VMAs as she had to get to Madison Square Garden, where she was scheduled to perform Sunday night.
