On Wednesday, actor Ryan Reynolds took to his Instagram account and dropped a video where he teases fans with his upcoming movie, Deadpool 3. Along with the quirky video, Ryan also introduces another Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character and we surely can’t keep calm.
In the video, Ryan is heard saying, “Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next Deadpool film for a long while now.”
Ryan then continued, “I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special. We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning. Every Deadpool needs to stand out and stand apart. It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside. And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying. But we did have one idea.”

As Ryan speaks of it, we see him in search of purpose in the midst, working on a typewriter, playing with the ball and even making his business in the bathroom but nothing new came out until actor Hugh Jackman comes into the frame.
With that, Ryan Reynolds asked him, “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?” “Yeah, sure, Ryan,” he replied. At the end of the video, we see the Deadpool logo appear but was quickly sliced up by Wolverine’s claws.
For the unversed, Hugh played Wolverine on screen for 17 years, and bid adieu to the character with the 2016 movie Logan where the Wolverine dies at the end of the film.
Earlier, in an interview, Hugh Jackman had said, “It’s still a character I hold close to my heart. But I know it’s done. Tell that to whoever you want to. Please tell it to Ryan [Reynolds]. Because he’s like, doesn’t believe anything’s I’m joking, please.”
Deadpool 3 will be released on June 9, 2024.
