Ufff Yeh Siyapaa Review

G Ashok’s Ufff Yeh Siyapaa is unlike anything else you. A silent film, this comedy thriller takes you on a chaotic ride filled with tones of laughter simply with their behaviour and without uttering a single word. The uniquely wordless comedy of errors is centred on Kesari Lal Singh (Sohum Shah), a common man who finds himself entangled in a spiralling mess when his wife, Pushpa (Nushratt Bharuccha) leaves him after assuming he’s been flirting with their neighbour, Kamini (Nora Fatehi).

However, before he can clear his name, a wrongly delivered drug parcel sets off a chain of escalating disasters, including a dead body turning up in his home. As Kesari scrambles to fix the situation and his life, another corpse drops, turning his house into a full-blown crime scene. Add to this the arrival of Police Inspector Hasmukh (Omkar Kapoor). What follows is a wildly absurd chain of comical events without a single word being spoken. Scroll below to read our Ufff Yeh Siyapaa review.

Music

In a movie consisting of no dialogues, AR Rahman’s melodies breath life into narrative. The compositions act as the film’s invisible narrator and helps take the story forward.

Star Cast

Sohum Shah, who is known for his performances in films like Tumbbad and Craxzy, goes the exact opposie way with Ufff Yeh Siyaapa. As Kesari Lal Singh, he delivers a masterclass in how physical comedy is done. He delivers an impeccable performance through his eyes and body language, making the need for words seem useless.

Nushrratt Bharuccha, who’ve always seen in glamourous roles, leaves a mark as Pushpa. She brings some much needed twist and turns to the narrative. Nora Fatehi as Kamini is not an arm candy, she adds a distinct flavor to the film. Sharib Hashmi as Gungra also makes his presence count as he romances Nushrratt.

Conclusion

Ufff Yeh Siyapaa is chaotic yet quiet, absurd yet thoughtful, funny yet strangely moving. Do give it a watch for a fun and laid back weekend with friends and family.
