‘Baaghi 2’ does an exceptional business over the first weekend, but fails to beat ‘Padmaavat’

Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani-starrer, ‘Baaghi 2’, opened to a fabulous response at the box office. Over the weekend, this film has registered great numbers and going by the reports, the film has managed to earn approximately Rs 73 crore nett. The numbers are huge of course, and the makers are on cloud nine. But if we see the statistics, the film has failed to beat the first weekend collection of  Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Padmaavat’. The first weekend collection of ‘Padmaavat’ was Rs 75 crores approximately.

Talking about Rani Mukerji’s ‘Hichki’ that made it to the theatres last Friday, the film witnessed a drop in the collection on second weekend. The second weekend collection of ‘Hichki’ was Rs 8.25 crores.
