Ali Abbas Zafar’s period drama ‘Bharat’ starring Salman Khan in the titular role is going to be a spectacle. The filmmaker has already started working on his ambitious project. ‘Bharat’ boasts of an extremely talented ensemble cast as apart from Salman Khan it also features Priyanka Chopra, Tabu, Disha Patani and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles.

According to a report in The Indian Express, the latest actor to come on board for this film is Shashank Arora of ‘Titli’ fame. A source close to the film told the daily, “Shashank was recently finalised for the pivotal role of Salman’s brother. Shashank is proved his mettle as an actor in his last films and he perfectly suits this role. Priyanka Chopra and Disha Patani play Salman’s love interests. Sunil Grover plays the role of his best friend.”

Shashank was previously seen in ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’  and also has a pivotal role in Nandita Das upcoming directorial ‘Manto’, a biopic based on the life of Indo-Pakistani author Saadat Hasan Manto. (Also Read: Tabu comes on board for Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’)

‘Bharat’ is an official adaptation of 2014 Korean film, ‘Ode to My Father’.The film is set to have a character-driven story spanning across many periods. Produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt. Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the film will be releasing on Eid in 2019.
