Dear Maya

Ever since we have seen the trailer of Manisha Koirala’s comeback movie ‘Dear Maya‘, we are awestruck by her de-glam avatar in the movie. In the movie she plays the character of Maya Devi, a reclusive woman leading a lone life for 20 years in an abandoned bungalow. She has locked herself in the bungalow and is scared to interact or come out in the open because she has never been loved in her life. So, two teenage girls going to high-school see her plight and decide to bring some cheer and happiness in her life. They start penning fake letters to her in the garb of a suitor she had met 20 years back for just a short while. (Also Read: Manisha Koirala overcame her fear of birds and dogs for ‘Dear Maya’)

Maya Devi starts feeling happy about her existence and opens up slowly with the girls and soon decides to move to Delhi in search of the man and what happens next is something we will know when the movie releases. Well, we know for a fact that it wouldn’t have been an easy ride for Manisha to go de-glam but being a thorough professional, she did complete justice to her role. So much so, that she actually shot her scenes in a haunted house of Shimla. Yes, that’s indeed true. The scenes of the bungalow are said to be shot inside a haunted house of Shimla and it’s really brave of Manisha and the entire team of the movie to shoot the movie without any fear whatsoever.

‘Dear Maya’ is directed by Sunaina Bhatnagar and produced by Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell. The movie will be releasing on June 2, 2017.
